Covered Bridge Cyclery was opened in November of 2009. Since that time, the store has continued to grow until it now rivals stores in larger cities as far as inventory, selection, and technical ability. All the while, CBC has remained a small-town bike shop as far as friendliness, service, and pricing. CBC has a No Intimidation policy. Essentially, everyone has to start somewhere, and nothing is served by scaring off new riders by having a superior attitude.

CBC wants to be not only the best bike shop in the area, we strive to be the best bike shop in the state! Our customers tend to be loyal, and we return that favour. CBC sponsors many local events and groups, we host rides throughout the year, and we buy locally when possible. Our CBC Rapido Roast coffee, for example, is roasted by Jameson Coffee of Greencastle.

Larry Shinn
I have worked in the bicycle industry for over 14 years. I have worked at the Pedal House Bicycle Works in Greenfield, IN, The Hub in Aspen, CO, Bike Wave in Indianapolis, IN, T3 MultiSport in Indy, and DG Bicycles - also in Indy. Prior (and concurrently) to becoming a bicycle mechanic, I was an auto mechanic with certifications from SAAB, Nissan, and Ford. In 2002, I taught myself HTML and subsequently took a job at accessIndiana (www.IN.gov) as a web designer. After 2 years there, I left for the excitement of I.T. contracts; installing servers, desktop PCs, and such. In 2007, I returned to working in Bike Shops, as that is what I enjoy most.

My college career included Franklin College and the University of Wyoming, where I double-majored in English and History. At CBC however, you will hear me speak English, Bad English, and occasionally Jibberish. I can also curse in 2 other languages.

I like all kinds of bikes, but I have a strong fondness for steel road and mountain bikes, 650B bikes, touring bikes, and "commuter" style bikes. I believe in bikes that are fun and comfortable to ride. My philosophy is: If your bike doesn't make you smile when you ride it, then something is wrong.

Dave doesn't have much to say at the moment. I'll poke him with a stick until he gives me something to put here. I can say that Dave is a tri-geek. He has raced at the Kona Ironman, and does several local triathlons as well. He's more ambitious than I am.
