Larry Shinn

I have worked in the bicycle industry for over 10 years. Originally, I started as a partner in Pedal House Bicycle Works in Greenfield. I then moved to Colorado where I worked at The Hub of Aspen. Returning to Indiana in 1998, I started working at The Bike Wave, eventually becoming Service Manager. I left in 2001 to work closer to home, working as an auto mechanic at Muffler Connection. In 2002, I taught myself HTML and subsequently took a job at accessIndiana (www.IN.gov) as a web designer. After 2 years there, I left for the excitement of I.T. contracts; installing servers, desktop PCs, and such. In 2007, I returned to The Bike Wave. In 2008, The Bike Wave was sold, and I continued to work for the new owners (T3 MultiSport). In early 2009, my once-employee and later manager Scott Dunwoody bought Nora Bike & Skate on the Monon Trail in Indy (now called DG Bicycles). I started there in March 2009 as manager, and worked there until recently when business slowed down for the winter.

I like all kinds of bikes, but I have a strong fondness for older road and mountain bikes, 650B bikes, touring bikes, and "commuter" style bikes. I believe in bikes that are fun and comfortable to ride. If your bike doesn't make you smile when you ride it, then something is wrong.

Dave doesn't have much to say at the moment. I'll poke him with a stick until he gives me something to put here.
